1.32 A tribute to a father
A tribute to a father dear,
A tribute to a father no longer here.
It is to this day I remember you well,
On you my thoughts do dwell,
For you do I shed an eternal tear.
My loving father, to me so dear,
I once remember a time when you were here.
Captured in love everlasting I am locked,
Inside, deeply shaken and forever shocked.
Oh my father dear, I am wishing you were near.
I hold myself solely for the blame,
Carrying with me a ceaseless shame.
If only I had been more wise,
Maybe myself I would not despise,
Now forever burned by guilt's endless flame.
This is a tribute to someone who ought to be here,
Who once was, and to my heart was ever so near.
Why did it ever have to be this way?
To come to a time when I must begin to pay
To pay a tribute to a father dear, no longer here.
