1.66 Ele
Oh Ele, a creature big and gret with such large feet,
Look at you in your enclosure, trapped in captivity.
Fanning those spectacular ears of yours and lifting that mighty trunk,
I see past your show and into those dark and sad eyes of yours,
Never shall you be free and never to have any privacy.
Oh Ele, what have they done to you?
Constantly having people gawp and shout at you,
Trapped in a tiny and sad space, confined, trapped.
Longing for the vast and expansive plains, never to be,
Longing for freedom that will never come to pass.
You will forever be our captive and showpiece,
I only hope your days be as enjoyable as possible.
Oh Ele, never forget, but forgetting may be for the best,
Oh Ele, poor, poor Ele.
Oh Ele.
