2.16 Fighting demons
Our time of knowing each other has been brief and quite a whirlwind,
Turbulence has hit that should have sent us flying, yet the opposite is true.
The situation has caused us to grow closer to each other and thrust into one another's arms,
We have become committed to protecting each other in every way.
No harm shall befall you on my watch, and only tears of joy shall I want to see you cry.
Your burden is not mine to carry and would frighten away men of a lesser calibre, but not I,
For in you I see innocence and a heart so pure and untainted that I just want to hold you.
With your hand in mine I ask your permission to face your demon and shoulder your burden,
Our combined strength will overcome and smite any foe, regardless of their determination and vigour.
Anyone who crosses someone close to my heart unlocks the fighter in me, a fighter who will never back
down.
From you I ask not for riches or rewards, my help is offered freely with no expectation of gain,
My request is but simple, to be loyal and respectful, caring and to be there in my time of need.
Fear not to approach me and ask me for my help, be this many or be this not, I promise I do not mind,
Valour, honour and values from a time gone by are what sets me aside from all others you may meet.
In my heart I hope that you can see how unique I am, for you will only ever meet one of me.
A spell has been cast and my barriers and resistance have crumbled to embrace you,
Determination and strength, along with my care and compassion are freely offered for your taking.
Excuse me as I beg your pardon should I come across too strong, but I pray you see my kind intent,
For a journey lies ahead and we have the ability to walk together and carry each other when needed.
