2.17 Life's maze
Life is a maze of paths. Mazes are fun and yet they can also be frustrating,
Causing us to reach dead ends and turn back to seek a new path.
Though unlike a conventional maze, life's maze will close certain paths to us if not taken.
It was always my intent to walk this maze with you, my hand firmly in yours,
Together trying to seek that magical garden hidden inside life's wonderful maze.
Each wrong turn holds traps, nettles and brambles that all hurt.
Nettles sting us and cause discomfort, yet the pain isn't lasting, and it fades away.
Brambles can cut deep and their scars can be lifelong and enduring, constant reminders.
Be it a sting or be it a cut, we bear these as a testament to our journey.
Standing at the end of a dead end, we feel lost and with a heavy heart have to re-seek our path.
Sorry that I let go of your hand and you of mine in our journey through the maze of life,
We have both ended up taking wrong turns, ending up lost and alone.
But now I am backtracking my steps, scarred from my journey of wrong turns,
My hand is extended as I search for you again and you for me.
Once again may we find the right path and seek the garden of paradise together.
When my hand finds yours and our lips touch again, I hope to open your soul to me again,
This magical garden of paradise knows we are coming and stands ready for us.
For if this maze is not walked together, then how could others learn of our journey?
Our love and story is a remarkable one and is a tale that needs to be shared,
May we smile with our hearts joined in this special garden and share our story of love to the world.
