2.32 Power of a memory
Memories are one thing that we all have and hold for reasons that are different and unique,
Some people use memories to flourish, grow and nurture dreams, some are haunted by them.
Letting go of a memory isn't always easy and often causes us to wonder and to think about those times,
What if I handled a time better, where would I be now? Who would be by my side and next to me?
Memories are powerful motivators, some are strong and positive, others negative or raise questions.
Each and every little memory that we hold, good, bad or questionable are small gems that are ours,
Time, new experiences, emotions and all else cannot wash away, fade or destroy these gems.
A memory will stand the test of time and often we will look back and revisit, learn and grow,
Mistakes from the past should not be erased from our memories, they should be equally cherished,
For that one haunting memory may save you from a new pain, a new heartache or new distress.
Savour the fun and happy memories and use them as beacons and lights during times that are dark,
Use the happiness to guide others to the same joys and delights that you have enjoyed yourself.
It is from all of our memories that our dreams during the long nights are guided and shaped,
Our goals in life take form from what has passed to what will soon come to pass based on memories.
Hold each one dear, never lose sight of them, store them, nourish them and learn from them.
That dark memory held from a long time ago can change to a more positive one if you try hard enough,
Sometimes there are memories that cannot be changed, those that come from heartache and loss.
Replacing someone no longer here is physically impossible, but we can keep them alive with memories,
Memories allow us to see them again, hear them again and allow us to learn to smile again.
Never underestimate the strength and power of a memory. Each and every one is different and unique.
